Cookies

Have you ever had someone show up at your front door unannounced and uninvited.

Isn’t that just the worst?!

Well… unless they have cookies.

Or… some other kind of free gift to offset the inconvenience of interrupting your day.

So seeing as I didn’t want to show up empty handed…

…I wanted to give you 4 of my best guides (all totally free) designed to help you no matter what stage of business you’re at right now.

Free Guides

Grab 1, or grab all 4.

The choice is yours…

Next, let’s talk tools…

I use a lot of tools in my business. A lot!

And over the years I’ve tried, tested, and used dozens and dozens more. This list contains my favorites, and those I’ve found most helpful in building my own, and my clients businesses.

I’ve organized my top resources into the following categories:

1. Business
2. Website
3. Online Marketing
4. Social Media
5. Other

Some of the links I’ve posted below are affiliate links, which means, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you choose to make a purchase. After trying almost every marketing tool out there this list has been very carefully cultivated. I am very grateful for your support of this site in this way. Thank you.

Business (Offline and Online)

Action Day Planner – As much as I love using my Mac’s Calendar, I also have a special place in my heart for good old fashioned pen-and-paper day planners. Of all the ones I’ve tried, this one suits my needs the best. It’s easy to plan, has a ton of space for notes, and keeps me on track. I use it alongside my electronic planners.

Apple Macbook Pro – I don’t want to spark a PC vs Mac debate, so go with whatever you like best! But for me, my Macbook Pro is my primary tool, and since making the switch to Mac’s back in 2007, I’m afraid there’s no going back.

Dropbox – Allows me to save, store, and share files with my other devices, and my clients. It’s been fantastic and eliminated the need to carry flash drives and memory sticks.

Website (Hosting and Design)

Namecheap – This is where I register all of my domains. They’re the best I’ve ever used.

Bluehost – Budget website hosting. Not my first choice, but I use them for a few of my less important sites as they do the trick, and they’re better than the other budget hosts (ie GoDaddy and HostGator which I really can’t recommend at all)

WPEngine – This is where I host my most important websites (including this one). They provide backups, fast loading times, and great service. They’re my top pick.

Genesis Framework – I’ve built a lot of websites over the years (200+) and the Genesis Framework is easily the cleanest, fastest, and most search engine friendly of all the platforms. Not only that, but most web developers and designers are familiar with it so getting it customized is quick and painless.

Parallax Pro – This is the theme that this website is built on. Basically, the Genesis Framework is the car engine, and Parallax Pro is the car body.

Online Marketing (Landing Pages and Email Marketing)

SE Ranking – This is the best SEO (search engine optimization) software I’ve ever used. Period. It’s now the only one we use inside the agency and the only one I recommend.

InVideo – You know video is important for marketing your business. Scratch that… it’s not just important… it’s mandatory. Which is why I love InVideo and recommend it to my clients and students who don’t like the idea of being on video themselves, have no idea what to create, or how to even get started – InVideo solves all this for you.

LeadPages – I can’t say enough good things about LeadPages. No matter if you’re a local brick and mortar business or an international online marketing company, your business can benefit from LeadPages.

Drip – Drip is my preferred email marketing service. I’ve tried others (many, many others) and when you consider functionality, ease of use, and deliverability, Drip takes the win. It also has some incredibly powerful features (aka automation) that makes marketing your business a breeze. If you have a business, then you need an email marketing service, and Drip is my top choice.

Social Media Marketing (Scheduling and Management)

Hootsuite – Hootsuite is great for scheduling, monitoring, and posting to social media. It allows me to plan out my posts, and check in on relevant keywords, hashtags, and mentions from one convenient dashboard.

Other

Audible – I love audio books. They’ve allowed me to triple my book consumption by listening in the car, at the gym, or while waiting in a line. I no longer dread waiting, as it gives me a chance to listen, learn, and enjoy. You can also click here to get a free month trial.

Adobe – Adobe is the mother of all applications. Photoshop for my graphic work, Premiere Pro for my video editing, Adobe Stock for stock photos, and the list goes on… and on… and on… simply put, it’s a must have.

Autoresponder MadnessSphere of Influence – It’s (VERY) rare that I feel strongly enough about another persons marketing training and methodology that I’m willing to recommend it without hesitation. These are 2 that I stand by. I’ve used them both. Love them. And have seen first hand how powerful they can be. The first, is one of the best email marketing (and to be honest, foundational marketing) trainings I’ve gone through. It’s called Autoresponder Madness, and it’s a gem. The other is one of the best ways to convert leads to sales through empathy and storytelling. It’s also a goldmine of value and it’s called Sphere of Influence.

Enjoy!
